GREENPORT — Local non-profit organizations were presented with donations from the Bank of Greene County’s Charitable Foundation at the Bank’s Greenport branch location. These non-profit groups provide a wide range of assistance and services to the local communities. A total of $167,000 will be awarded this year from the Bank of Greene County’s Charitable Foundation to over 200 local non-profit organizations.

The organizations receiving donations at this time were Chatham Kids Club, Churchtown Fire Co., Claverack Library, Columbia County Chamber Foundation Inc., Columbia Opportunities, Columbia-Greene Hospital Foundation, Healthcare Consortium, Historic Hudson, Hudson Area Library, Hudson Children’s Book Festival, Hudson City School District – High School Robotics Team, Hudson City School District – Intermediate School Hudson Reads, Hudson Dollars for Scholars, Hudson Flag Day Parade Inc., Hudson Housing Authority, Hudson River Historic Boat Restoration, Hudson Valley Choral Society, Hudson Widow’s Son Lodge 7, Michael Checkhov School (The Actors’ Ensemble), Regional Foodbank of Northeastern New York, School Life Media, St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, Upstage Productions Inc., Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3220.

Since 1998, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.2 million to fund a wide variety of projects benefiting and including education, health and wellness, social and civic services, culture, arts, and affordable housing. The Bank of Greene County and the Foundation will continue to devote time and money to local non-profit organizations that improve the quality of life in the community.
